INVASION OF CHEAP LABOR

by Francis Sanchez

The invasion of "cheap labor" suppresses wages for everyone. It hurts the unskilled laborer the most because it prevents upward income mobility.

Labor costs are a major expense in the costs of producing goods and services for many businesses. Cheaper labor costs help to keep the cost of producing goods and services low. Lower labor costs help businesses to compete in a very competitive business market. Lower labor costs help businesses to gain a greater percent of the market share. That explains why some businesses lobby for and support an invasion of "cheap labor".

What is most curious is why "organized labor" supports and lobbies for Democrat policies. It is the Democrat Party on the left that incentivizes the invasion of "cheap labor". Organized labor is supposed to fight for better wages and better working conditions. Yet, in their support and lobbing for the Democrat Party they are essentially supporting the invasion of cheap labor which suppresses wages. Their actions say that they want good wages for some and not others. These are two incompatible policies.

Could it be that there is an ulterior motive that trumps giving higher wages to the lowest income bracket? Their actions say that the support of the invasion of "cheap labor" is more about the use of people which is more important than the help of these people. The invasion of "cheap labor" primarily consists of illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants overwhelming support the political party that supports the welfare system. Coincidently the political party that supports the welfare system also supports organized labor, especially the public sector unions. (The common denominator is support of the democrat party.)

The invasion of "cheap labor" suppresses wages for everyone. It hurts the unskilled laborer the most, because it prevents upward income mobility.
